I’m a fractional research lead based in Atlanta and I've spent more than 25 years watching people use products. I founded 80 Watts in 2008, tired of watching good teams guess at what customers wanted instead of just asking them. Twenty-five years into this work, that’s still the problem I’m solving.
Before founding 80 Watts, I spent twelve years at Sage working on small business accounting software, and a year at AutoTrader.com. Neither job was consulting, but both left a mark on how I think about research today.
I also mentor early-career researchers through the UGA Alumni Mentor program. When I’m not working, I’m hiking or hunting for Atlanta’s best tacos. I have favorites, but I’m always open to a recommendation.

In 2018, there wasn’t a real home for UX researchers in Atlanta. No regular meetup, no community, no place to talk shop with people who understood the work. So I started one. Today it’s one of the largest UX research communities in the Southeast, covering methods, tools, career development, and the business of research.
Researchers are the core, but product managers, designers, and founders are regulars too. Come to a meetup.
